I help lawyers navigate pivotal moments in their careers with clarity and confidence

I’m Jessie Brown, JD, PCC, Career & Leadership Coach for Lawyers

I help lawyers use their whole brains - the logical left hemisphere and the intuitive right hemisphere - to create authentic careers that align with who they are and what matters most to them.

Through neuroscience, positive psychology, parts work, mindfulness, and research-based coaching tools and assessments, I support lawyers in navigating career decisions, promotions, job changes, and career transitions with clarity, courage, and confidence.

What if I told you that you have an inner compass that can guide you to your most fulfilling career?

Using your inner guidance system for sustainable success

How contemplating mortality led to my career change.

Turning the age my mom was when she was diagnosed with the cancer that took her life was a wake-up call for me. I realized I could get a life-altering diagnosis at any time.

I hired my first coach and began exploring the types of work that aligned with my strengths and would allow me to create the quality of life I wanted for myself and my family.

I now work as a coach and consultant for lawyers and legal organizations and host nature-based wellness retreats for lawyers.

I chose law for practical reasons.

I lost my parents when I was in college and had no safety net.

My sole concern became financial security.

I began my career as a Big Law litigator in DC.

I went in and out of burnout, often stressed and overwhelmed, especially when my kids were young.

In my last years of practice, I tried estate planning and then representing hospices, which were a better fit.

I built a small book of business that, financially, allowed me to reduce my billable hours and have more balance.

Over the years, I learned to manage my time and workload and manage stress by prioritizing sleep, exercise, and meditation.

A lawyer origin story

When changing practice areas and reducing my billable hours as a senior counsel in Big Law didn't create the career alignment I wanted, I invested in a coach.

Through coaching, I reconnected with my inner compass, gained clarity on what I wanted, and began making choices to bring that vision into reality.

This profound journey of self-discovery and inner work transformed all areas of my life including my work, marriage, friendships, and health.

A coaching session with Jessie feels like an opportunity to talk to your best friend who isn't afraid to push you!

Sarah, Big Law Senior Associate

A coaching session with Jessie feels like an opportunity to talk to your best friend who isn't afraid to push you to think about what you really want in life–for you, for your family, for your career. She asks direct questions and gives space for you to be transparent about what is working and what isn’t, without any judgment.
For me personally, talking with Jessie was the catalyst for me to sit down and ask myself honestly what sort of salary I would be able to live on comfortably. After making a detailed budget, I realized that I had more options than I felt like I had. There is something beautiful about having the opportunity to work with someone who knows the demands of big law but who will encourage (challenge?) you to be most true to yourself.
